Lunar New Year Events in the Bay Area

Experience the rich Vietnamese heritage in San Jose at the Tet Festival. The festival will feature a lion dance, magic shows, and unique foods. The event kicks off February 16, 2018 from 3-11 PM and will go until February 17-18 from 11 AM to 11 PM at the Eastridge Mall. Admission and parking are free.
Lunar New Year Celebration
The San Jose Museum of Art is celebrating Lunar New Year with a free community event. Art-making activities, cultural demonstrations, and live performances start on February 17, 2018 from 11 AM to 5 PM.
Dumpling Down! Chinese New Year Food Festival
There are two reasons to eat dumplings for Lunar New Year: wealth and treasures in the next year and because they taste amazing! On Sunday, February 25, 2018 vendors from all over the Bay Area will be steaming, frying, baking and boiling authentic classics at the Dumpling Down! Chinese New Year Food Festival held at SoMa StrEat Food Park. General admission is $5 and $23 for bottomless kumquat mimosas (includes General Admission). Kids under 10 years receive free admission.
Oakland Museum of California Lunar New Year Celebration
Join the OMCA for the 17th annual Lunar New Year celebration on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from noon to 4:30 PM. Enjoy live performances including lion and dragon dances, and an array of Asian traditions in arts, crafts, food, and more!
Southwest Airlines Chinese New Year Parade 2018
You can’t celebrate Chinese New Year without attending the 2018 Chinese New Year Festival and Parade in San Francisco. The parade begins Saturday, February 24 at 5:15 PM at the corner of 2nd and Market Streets. It then weaves its way through Chinatown and ends at Jackson and Kearny Streets.
