Dare To Compare: 2018 Mercedes-Benz E 300 vs. 2018 Lexus GS 300

January 11th, 2018 by

We all know luxury base models are anything but basic. That’s why choosing the right luxury car can be difficult so, Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Fremont are here to make your decision easier.

Here’s a few features we think you’ll love in the 2018 Mercedes-Benz E 300 that you won’t find in its rival, the 2018 Lexus GS 300.

Mercedes-Benz vs Lexus

It’s no secret these two vehicles are head turners, and under the hood the E 300 and GS 300 run a tight race with turbocharged 2.0L inline-4 engines and 241 hp; but as the saying goes, “it’s what’s on the inside that counts.” This couldn’t be truer with the Mercedes-Benz E 300.

Inside the Mercedes-Benz E-Class cabin is the standard 64-color LED ambient lighting, DYNAMIC SELECT®, and the latest tech like Car-to-X Communication, exclusive to Mercedes-Benz.

Driving in San Jose, Oakland, and throughout Alameda County has been taken to an entirely new level.  Every new E-class can automatically alert a central notification system of certain dangers, from detected wheelspin to the use of hazard flashers or even windshield wipers. The system can then alert other drivers with Car-to-X via in-dash display or announcements, allowing for precautions to be taken prior to the reaching the hazard.

While the Lexus GS 300 has its own standard safety features like Intuitive Parking Assist that utilizes sensors to detect surrounding objects to make parking easier, the Mercedes-Benz E 300 still outshines by doing all the hard work for you.

That’s right! The E 300 comes available with Active Parking Assist, a feature that searches for suitable parallel or perpendicular parking spaces on either side as you drive by. Choose a space to pull or back into, and the E-Class can expertly shift, steer and brake for you. When it’s time to leave, it can also steer you back out.

Need directions to your favorite restaurant in San Jose or perhaps want to explore San Francisco? You could choose to purchase the Navigation package with the 2018 GS 300, but why pay more when you can have it all?

The E 300 comes standard with GPS technology for detailed driving directions on the COMAND® system’s 12.3-inch high-resolution color screen. To top things off, it displays 3D maps with building profiles and Points of Interests.
