BMW vs. Mercedes-Benz: CPO Program Benefits

When comparing certified pre-owned program benefits, Mercedes-Benz outshines BMW. Though both come with a CARFAX® Vehicle History Report and have transferable warranties, Mercedes-Benz requires no deductible and offers a 7-day/500-mile Exchange Privilege in case you change your mind — unlike BMW.

BMW vs. Mercedes-Benz: Sedans & Coupes

  • CLA vs. BMW 2-Series: Next to the CLA, the BMW 2-Series has a higher starting MSRP of $2,200 yet lacks features that are offered on the Mercedes-Benz CLA, including seating for five passengers and 14-way power-adjustable front seats.
  • C-Class vs. BMW 3-Series: The C-Class and BMW 3-Series are both powered by a 255-hp 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine at their base levels. The C-Class gets a 9-speed automatic, though, resulting in smoother gear shifts compared to the 3-Series’ 8-speed automatic.
  • E-Class vs. BMW 5-Series: The Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series produce 273 lb-ft of torque and 258 lb-ft of torque, respectively. Not only does the E-Class generate more torque, but it provides a smoother, more responsive ride, thanks to its 9-speed automatic transmission. Also, the E-Class comes with features not included on the 5-Series, such as Car-to-X Communication and 64-color ambient lighting.

  • GLC vs. BMW X4: The BMW X4 is considerably more expensive than the Mercedes-Benz GLC, with starting MSRPs of $50,450 and $40,700, respectively. Despite the lower price tag, the GLC comes with features that the BMW X4 does not. Some of these features include a 9G-TRONIC® 9-speed automatic transmission and dual-zone climate control.
  • GLE vs. BMW X5: Planning a big trip with the family? The Mercedes-Benz GLE offers more space for luggage and other belongings. With the rear seats folded, the GLE provides 80.3 cubic feet of cargo room, while the GLE offers 72.3 cubic feet.
