Mercedes-Benz Fully Hybrid Vehicles

Herbert Kohler, head of Daimler's E-Drive and Future Mobility unite, said Daimler is progressing quickly with their hybrid technologies and is planning to offer hybrid versions of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, E-Class, and S-Class cars in the U.S. and Europe in the next three years. This is a step in their effort to meet the tightening global fuel economy standards.

"We have a leading position in the premium segment concerning alternative propulsion systems and we will defend it," Kohler said following a press event.

Mercedes-Benz Diesels Growing in Numbers

In the U.S., Mercedes-Benz currently offers diesel vehicles in its E-, M-, GL-, and R-class models. And, they have an S-class on the way. For those of you who are not familiar, Mercedes-Benz Active Night View Assist Plus offers Mercedes-Benz drivers the ability to more aptly detect pedestrians on the road by highlighting them on the display in the instrument cluster. The innovative safety device warns driver's to proceed with more caution and has been included in Mercedes-Benz's luxury-class models since 2009.
