More 200 Mercedes-Benz officials have volunteered to help Clean Ocean Action - a group committed to restoring and preserving the waters along the New Jersey and New York coastlines. The volunteers spent two days picking up and logging items found in Sandy Hook Gateway National Park to identify - and hopefully prevent - main sources of pollution. Over 12,700 pieces of trash and other items were collected!
"Mercedes-Benz has a rich history of environmental sensitivity and innovation, and we're excited about this very special partnership and opportunity - right in our backyard here in New Jersey," explains Lisa Rosenfeld, General Manager, HR, Mercedes-Benz USA. What Rosenfeld fails to mention is that in addition to the man hours Mercedes-Benz USA donated to Clean Ocean Action, the company also made a generous $11,000 contribution.
