Lumileds LEDs in Mercedes-Benz Cars

Mercedes-Benz has decided to used Luxeon Rebel LED lights for their daytime running fixtures on a number of their models.
They began this adaption in June of 2010 starting with their E-Class models. Mercedes-Benz plans to expand these efforts into other models' daytime running lights by installing them in other models as well.
Uwe Kostanzer, head of Exterior Lighting Department at Mercedes-Benz Car Group, said that the German company the maker of the Luxeon Rebel LED lights, Phillips Lumileds as a partner because of the product's supremacy in output, quality of light and thermal stability.
He also said there is an "entirely trustful cooperation between the engineering teams on both sides."
Kostanzer added: "This is another important step in our mission to bring long lasting, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly solid-state lighting solutions to the automotive industry."
